The Sea Far Away

In 1968, with a used Exakta 500, 35mm single lens reflex camera, I started taking ocean surfing photographs. We used Kodachrome and Ektachrome 35mm slide film, and some b&w print film, mostly at El Porto, in south Santa Monica Bay, but then all around the bay and up and down the California coast and into Oregon. The Exakta, purchased at a camera shop on Main Street in El Segundo, came with a 55mm lens, and I bought a used 120mm portrait lens for zoom. Most of the photos below were taken from 1968 through the mid 1980’s. The photos are separated into galleries of 9 pics each.
