         A 
       block
      of white
     stone grows
     in a mist no
    birds perch at
    the top point of
   this blank obelisk
  its single ray upward
  knows no pair yet gem
  hardly pretentious is
  what it appears to be
  monolithic nothing no
  more no less at worst
  at stone's base amass
  a rock dove messenger
  pigeon dazed and dumb
  fallen dagger edifice
  never before end this
