Brilliant – sumptuous image – also a wonderful example of how light paints through shadow. This inspires all kinds of other concepts around keys, lights, sounds, words …

Thanks, Ashen. I hadn’t set out to take a picture, but I came into the room and saw all those keys of light, and took the photo with my cell phone, holding it at a slight angle trying to get all of the keyboard in, and that angle helps the picture, I think. But notice the 12 keys of light at the top of the piano, a perfect 12 tone scale, or an ascending chromatic scale? A chromatic scale light notation.
